What Do You Look For in a Wedding Dress?

If you are a bride that wants the ultra traditional dress with a long, flowing train, then an outdoor wedding on the beach doesn’t make a whole lot of sense, does it? If you want a modern dress that is cut at the knees, is sleeveless, and has reds and blacks incorporated into it, then getting married in a cathedral built in 1688 may not necessarily be the best choice either. When it comes to the special wedding dress for that ultra special day, many brides have a huge decision to make. For some, the color is most critical to the wedding dress, because the bride to be has always dreamed of getting married in white. For others, the style of the dress is most important, because they want something modern, or maybe something traditional, or maybe a little bit of both. For other brides, comfort is the most important thing in a dress because they don’t want to leave a bunch of sweat gains that will be remembered forever thanks to the wedding pictures. That’s why before you make the final selection of your wedding dress, you need to figure out what is most important to you in a dress from these three criteria. When you know what you want from your dress, then you will know what kind of location you can have or will want to have for your wedding. The two really do go hand in hand… unless you don’t mind being a little bit miserable as a bride in your dress.

What you are looking for in a dress really should depend on the location of your wedding, no matter what the season happens to be, and where you want to get married should be reflected in the overall selection of what is most important to you. Why is location so important in the selection of your wedding dress, and why is the selection of your wedding dress so important in relation to the location of your wedding? Obviously it is your wedding and you can do what you choose, but the huge, formal dress on the beach will get you awfully sweaty, and because cathedrals tend to be colder instead of warmer, a dress that doesn’t hide much in the first place will hide even less thanks to that slight chill. And if you are going for that nice, comfortable dress and you’ve got an ultra formal location, you may end up having your guests out dress you.
